When a company adds a security or grant to its cap table and the invited stakeholder accepts it, a stakeholder portfolio will be created for that stakeholder's name. Companies can use:
Different stakeholder names with the same email address (which results in one account with multiple portfolios), common for institutional stakeholders
Different email addresses for the same/different stakeholder names (multiple separate accounts)
Merge Portfolios from Within the Same Account
If you've accepted securities/grants from multiple companies under the same email address and some portfolio names are incorrect/duplicated, you can merge them:
Click the Settings tab of your account
Click Merge Portfolios
In the first dropdown, choose the portfolio to merge
In the second dropdown, select the name to remain displayed
Click Review to proceed
Merge Separate Accounts
Each portfolio has a "primary contact" (the email address used for the initial stakeholder invitation). Additional email addresses can be added as "members" through the Settings tab:
All members have portfolio visibility
Only the primary contact can:
Add new members
Select a new primary contact
Accept/sign new securities/grants
Only one primary contact is allowed at a time
When the same email address is the primary contact for multiple portfolios, a Merge Portfolios button appears below the members list, enabling account merging.
