​Who is the option signatory?

This is typically the CEO (cofounder) or president at your company. If you are an early stage startup without a board, the option signatory can be one of the founders in 95% of cases.

Why do I need to add an option signatory?

To give options to employees, you need to have new hires sign an option grant. There are two signatures needed on the option grant agreement: the option signatory (to represent your company) and the new employee. This is identical to the offer letter - both your company and your new employee need to sign the offer letter.
