How to create and view Custom Reports

A step-by-step guide to custom reporting.

Custom Reporting in Pulley allows companies to create detailed reports with just a few clicks. It helps finance users by saving report templates for future use, reducing repetitive work.

Note: You must be on the Growth or Custom Plan to access this feature. Startup Plan customers can only access the pre-populated reports.

Accessing Custom Reports

  1. Navigate to Company.

  2. Click on Reports.

  3. Select Custom Reports.

Pre-Populated Custom Reports

Pulley offers a list of pre-populated report templates that can be directly downloaded. These templates can also serve as a starting point for creating new custom reports.

To use a pre-populated report as a template:

  1. Click on the name of the report.

  2. Select Save Copy to create a new report that you can customize as needed.

Creating a Custom Report Overview

To create a custom report from scratch:

  1. Click on New Report.

You'll then be able to:

  • Choose Data Source: Select the data source for your report.

  • Filter Data: Apply filters to refine the data.

  • Group Data: Group the data based on specific criteria.

  • Add More Data: Include additional data fields as needed.

  • Download the Report: You can download the report at any step.

  • Save the Template: Save the report template for future use.

Creating a Custom Report step-by-step

1. +Add Step

2. Select Step Type: Add Data

3. Select Table to add from the drop-down menu.

4. Choose the Columns to add.

5. Add a date in the As of field.

6. Filter Data.

7. Group Data.

Group your data by columns and select how you want to summarize it, such as by sum, average, count, minimum, or maximum. Where:

  • Sum: Adds up all the values in a group.

  • Average (Mean): Calculates the average of the values in a group.

  • Count: Counts the number of values or records in a group.

  • Min (Minimum): Finds the smallest value in a group.

  • Max (Maximum): Finds the largest value in a group.

8. Repeat steps 2 to 8 to add more complexity to your report.

9. Preview the report at every step.

10. Download or Save the report at any step.

Note: Only the last step of a report is editable. To edit an earlier step in the report, please remove all the following steps first.
