Where you are now

Congratulations, your cap table has been reviewed, approved, and is now live in Pulley. Your ownership history, equity data, and company information are all reflected in your dashboard. The hard part of getting your data into the system is done.

That said, your workspace isn't quite ready for daily operations yet. Think of it like moving into a new office: the furniture is in place, but you haven't set up your desk, configured your tools, or handed out keys to the people who need access. That's what this stage is for.

Here's what's already in place:

  • Your complete cap table history and ownership data

  • Your admin dashboard, populated with company information

  • Your equity plan structure and security types

Here's what isn't configured yet:

  • Stakeholder invitations (employees and investors haven't been notified yet)

  • Pending document signatures and e-certificates

  • Workflow templates and custom documents

  • Integrations with HR or payroll systems

This is expected. Post-onboarding configuration happens based on what you actually need to use first. It also does not have to all be done at once.

What happens next

Before diving into day-to-day workflows, most admins complete a short round of essential setup:

  1. Verify company settings and signatories: Confirm your company details and designated signers are accurate. Configure your company settings

  2. Complete pending tasks: Sign any e-certificates or documents waiting for your signature. Find and complete pending tasks

  3. Review stakeholder data: Check that employee and investor records look correct before sending any invitations. Review and edit stakeholder information

Once essential setup is done, the rest is yours to sequence based on what your company needs first. Use the Choose your path section below to find your starting point.

Understanding your dashboard

When you log in, you'll land on your admin dashboard, your command center for managing equity across your company. From here you can monitor ownership, track activity, manage pending tasks, and access every major workflow in Pulley.

One distinction worth knowing before you go further: this dashboard is admin-only. Stakeholders see a completely different portal focused solely on their own equity holdings. They won't see your cap table, company metrics, or admin tools.

For a full walkthrough of each dashboard section and what the metrics mean, see Navigating your admin dashboard

See Admin access vs. stakeholder access for additional information on how admin and stakeholder experiences differ

Choose your path

Most admins come out of onboarding needing to do one of four things first. Find the path that matches your immediate priority:

Path A: Get your team access

Add co-founders, finance team members, legal counsel, or other admins, and invite employees and investors to view their equity.

Syncing from an HR or payroll system? If you're planning to connect Rippling, Gusto, or another HRIS, your stakeholder records may be populated automatically. See Connect your HR/payroll system before manually entering or editing stakeholder information.

Path B: Issue equity

Grant options or shares to new hires, advisors, or existing stakeholders.

Path C: Complete pending tasks

Handle signatory requests, sign e-certificates, and clear your task queue.

Path D: Set up systems

Configure company settings and connect your HR or payroll integration.

Not sure where to start? Most admins begin with Path A or Path C. If you're still unsure, contact support or join a PulleyU training session and we'll help you prioritize.

Common questions

Do I need to complete everything before I can start using Pulley?

No. Complete essential setup (roughly an hour), then configure only the features you need right now. Everything else can be set up later.

Can I come back to configure features I skip now?

Yes. Nothing is time-sensitive except completing any pending signature tasks that may be waiting on you specifically.

Are stakeholders automatically notified after onboarding?

No. Stakeholders are not invited or notified until you explicitly send invitations. You control the timing. This gives you time to verify data and get your settings right before anyone receives access.

What if I'm not sure what I need to do first?

Contact support or join a PulleyU live training session. Both are well-suited for helping new admins prioritize their first week.
